Let us draw near to Jesus today, the prototype for all martyrs. Let us make St. Francis' prayer our prayer today on this day of penance:
O Lord, we beseech you,
That the sweet and firey strength of your love
So absorb our souls from all things under heaven,
That we might die for love of Your love,
As You didst deign to die
For love of our love. Amen.
